Kaffelogic Nano 7 vs. Nucleus Link
In short the Kaffelogic is a home first roaster, the Nucleus Link is a sample/grading first roaster.
The Nano 7 roasts coffee at 120g batches by default and with the addition of BOOST will roast between 50g and 180/200g batches. It is intended for home roasting, however we do have users who use it as their primary sample roaster in their roasteries and competition roaster.
With the Link roaster you will need the Link app as well as the included density tube. Using the density tube in tandem with the app, it will provide you with one of the core profiles to get you as close to a perfect roast without having to manually build a profile every time. The default batch size is 100g and out of the box can be roasted from 50g to 100g.
The Nucleus Link was created out of the need to help green coffee producers make sure that every one of their samples is roasted to bring out its best characteristics on the cupping table. So often farmers are having to roast coffees manually and do not have the time to give each sample the tweaks and fine tuning that it needs. This results in many samples not showing their full potential and ends with them not being sold. Link takes that problem away.
Functionally the units are very similar, both have their own versions of Studio where you can curate your own profiles. They both include the new chaff collector and currently both connect via USB-C cable to a laptop or PC.
Currently the Link has a few extra features such as Live Roasting, where you can watch your temperature in real-time. As well as Air Speed Trim, this applies a fan speed multiplier that helps you dial in airflow to that specific sample that you are roasting.
The differences were also laid out fantastically by our European distributor, Roast Rebels.
