The BOOST feature automatically adjusts fan speed and heat according to the load size entered prior to roasting. The adjustment is based on the default load size of 120g for the Kaffelogic Nano 7.

Sometimes profiles are developed for different default load sizes. For example, some profiles have been optimised for 100g. The problem with BOOST is that if you enter 100g with a profile like this, it will adjust down from the default 120g and this will give the wrong fan speed and heat for this profile and load.

This is where the 'reference load size' setting comes in. Setting reference load size to 100g  tells BOOST to adjust from 100g. This setting needs to be done in the profile, ideally by the profile designer. However, if you have a profile that you know is designed for 100g or 80g you can edit the profile yourself in Kaffelogic Studio to ensure it has the correct 'reference load size' setting.

Note

Reference load size requires Kaffelogic Studio version 6.1.4 or higher.
